Reading music from the music itself

Hey guys, I am having a problem with recognising pitches. I also have trouble recognising the time signature. But the BPM I am coping with just fine. I use LMMS, but translating it into the program would be no problem. I also have FL Studio Trial 9.
Can you give me any tips?

My suggestion would be to try and play the notes you hear on your midi keyboard if you have one. If not try to find a piano and just keep listening to it over and over till you can sing it. Hope this helps.
